Construction Theo Fransman Bridge

To ensure that the bridge over Zijkanaal I in Amsterdam will continue to function properly, Alewijnse realised the electrical engineering system and the controls (process automation). The bridge is a bascule bridge for pedestrians and cyclists. The bridge can be operated remotely from the control centre.

  • portable control panel (DBT) for local operation of the bridge

  • operation and control of the bridge was realised using Siemens S7 315F PLC
  • the fail safe PLC was equipped with a Profibus with a Profinet connection.
