The Alewijnse Marine service and refit centre in La Ciotat in the south of France is nominated for a highly prestigious business development award in the annual programme organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry France Netherlands (CCI France Pays-Bas).
The nomination is the result of Alewijnse setting up and expanding its new subsidiary at La Ciotat. Alewijnse has won the Dutch-Franco Business Award in 2016 and is nominated for this special Award again in 2019.
Alewijnse Marine is a leading system integrator, delivering innovative electrical engineering, automation, navigation and ICT solutions and technical services to luxury yachts and commercial vessels around the world. Its La Ciotat subsidiary has been nominated in the Business Development Award NL-FR category.
Two prizes are available here; one for Dutch companies doing business in France, for which Alewijnse is entered, and the other for French companies doing business in the Netherlands. The judging criteria include growth in turnover in the host country and the relative share of that turnover to the total income of the company. Other factors that are considered are the strategy and competitive position of the company being assessed. Prizes are also given for innovation and the personality of the year.
With the full support of La Ciotat Shipyards SEMIDEP and Provence Promotion (the local French Economic Development Agency), Alewijnse opened its new facility at Chantiers Naval La Ciotat in 2015. Its objective is to provide a fast and personal service to the many superyachts in the western Mediterranean that either have electrical and ICT systems designed and installed by Alewijnse, or else seek the support of highly trained electrical engineers for repairs and refits. The La Ciotat office provides operational coverage from Barcelona in the west to Genova in the east.
CCI France Pays-Bas is a private foundation dedicated to promoting trade and investment between the two countries. The awards will be announced at a gala dinner taking place on Wednesday 15 May 2019 at the Residence of the French Ambassador in The Hague. During this evening CCI France Pays-Bas will also celebrate its 40th anniversary.
